Either you have a nearby river, spring or lagoon etc to satisfy the water demand or else you have to dig out for high power tube wells to satisfy the demand which may cost you much depending upon the lake level in the area.
The buying decision must be taken when the farm land for sale meet your specific needs otherwise the complete purpose might be a failure.
